Sacred Margins: A Virtual Gathering for
Ex-Religious Folks of Color

Meeting Dates: Four Wednesdays in July: 3, 10, 17, 24 from 7-9 PM EST

Sacred Margins is a four-week, four session online explorational gathering for people of color who were raised religious or were previously religiously affiliated, but no longer practice or identify religiously. The gathering is a held container for exploring and processing religious feelings using writing prompts and storytelling. It is also a place where people of color are encouraged to investigate whiteness and patriarchy in their religious upbringings and theologies.

We welcome desires to not only critique but also integrate your religious pasts into a spiritual present. Were/are there gems from religion you want to honor and carry over into your current spiritual practice and approach to life? Finally, Sacred Margins is a scheming space for people who long for durable spiritual community that exists outside of traditional religious institutions.

In each session, we will call in the ancestors, write together, share our work, and engage in light ritual. Some themes we will explore:

  • Life after Religion
  • Tapping into Our Desires for Belonging
  • How Culture Shapes Our Spirituality
  • Crafting a Ritual Life

Each participant will also receive a private one hour-long spiritual companionship session with Frances (online or phone).

The fee of Sacred Margins is a sliding scale from $120-$160-$200 per person.

Please apply here before June 28, 2024.

Sacred Margins is limited to 12 spots.

Gathering fees are due on or before July 1, 2024. A full refund of fees is available if participant sends a cancellation email to hellofranceslee@gmail.com at least 24 hours before the first class starts (July 3). After that date, no refunds will be given.
